Bandi SA: flexible ERP for top-of-the-range components

Bandi SA, based in Courtételle in the Jura, is a major regional player in the mechanical subcontracting sector dedicated to the watchmaking industry. Specialising in the turning of micro-components, this dynamic Jura-based SME boasts an impressive array of machinery and produces top-of-the-range watchmaking components, from single pieces to several million units. 

The magazine MSM, the monthly industrial magazine, visited Bandi SA for a meeting with Paul-André Tendon, its CEO, who took time out for a Q&A session.

Why did you want to implement an ERP system? 

"In 2010 we changed our management software and that's when we opted for an ERP. We used to have an old CAMM system based on Microsoft Access, which worked quite well because it had been specially developed for bar turning. Unfortunately, there was only one person who had created it and the long-term future of the solution was not guaranteed. That was the first reason we decided to invest in an ERP system, but it wasn't the only one." 

How did you hear about ProConcept? 

"I already knew ProConcept by name. In the nineties I worked for a company whose clients were already using ProConcept. That's where I first heard about it. When we decided to change our ERP , I went to see what ProConcept was offering today and I was won over by their ERP, which integrates functions specific to our business" 

 

What are the essential features of ProConcept for managing your business? 

"One of the possibilities offered by this ERP is the management of precious materials. It's a feature that brings us a lot of benefits. There are so many percentages of gold, silver and copper in a precious alloy, and ProConcept knows how to manage them all. [...] This makes our work much easier, while increasing the traceability and control of our production. I also appreciate the dashboards, which give you all the data related to an order at a glance. You can see the status of the order, previous orders, related offers, material stock, finished parts stock, dispatch and all the essential data for tracking an order. The aim is to create a link between all this data and to centralise it so that it can be easily managed"
