Interview de Patrik Hug - International Trade News (EN)

Swiss IT excellence for production companies

Some years ago, IT was about data processing and data management on stand-alone computers. Thanks to the Internet, the world is a huge network now, and IT providers must constantly adapt to new trends and demands. SolvAxis, based in Sonceboz, Switzerland, is a specialist in ERP solutions for production companies. In order to meet the challenges of the future, the company recently joined forces with the Swedish firm Jeeves. Now, Managing Director Patrik Hug is optimistic that SolvAxis will be able to enhance its international market position in the coming years and activate new resources for long-term oriented developments.

“The IT market has changed within the last years,” explained the managing director. “It is not a growth market any more. You can only grow organically with the market. At the same time, the research and development requirements become even more challenging, too. You need great resources to handle all future issues such as cloud and mobility, hosting or security, to mention but a few. The acquisition meant a benefit for both parties. We are able to use the international network of Jeeves and to outsource some development activities offshore to India. Jeeves, on the other hand, aims to gain additional ground in Europe. We believe that our development capacities will double within the coming 12 to 18 months.”
